This weekend I have a Couple's Portrait Session planned, and I am SO excited! It is going to be so much fun! I love the couple, the weather is supposed to be great, after two weeks of almost continuous rain here in McKinney, and it will be a nice way to start my weekend- just being able to do something I love doing.
But have you ever thought of all that goes into what a photographer does behind the scenes to prepare for the sessions they are photographing?? Well, if you have, here is the insider scoop...
I don't know if it is just me, but I am OCD (not literally) about making sure I have all of my gear ready to go; checking to see if my camera battery is charged, if my flash is charged, making sure I have extra batteries ready to go, making sure my camera bag is stocked with all of my needs and any could be needs of either me or my client. And that is only the beginning folks.
Then we get into making sure I am educated on my client enough. What types of things are they looking for in their session, any must have shots, any things or props that they want to remember or have documented for forever.
Making sure that I am educated on the best poses, the weather, the time the sun goes down or comes up (depending on when the session is scheduled for), where the location is (if they picked it), making sure they know where the location is (if I picked it), making sure they are educated on what to wear and how to plan for their session.
Again, these things just barely scratch the surface, but hopefully you can understand a little bit more about any photographers you know and why they are the way they are, why they ask the questions they do. We all (well, mostly all) just want to be able to give you the best experience possible and to be able to provide you with the best possible results and products that we can. Because we LOVE our clients!
